PHOENIX — Three SRP Water Construction West employees will be honored next week for helping extinguish a truck fire near the Loop 101 on July 2.

The three employees — Bryan Dodge, Danlee Yazzie and Vince Ortega — noticed a tractor-trailer on fire as they were heading east on Interstate 10 with a nearby DPS officer on the scene.

With a full SRP water truck, the crew pulled over and helped extinguish the majority of the flames before firefighters arrived.

The ceremony will take place at the Arizona Department of Transportation Administration building in Phoenix on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m.
