PHOENIX — Gastropub and grill chain Thirsty Lion recently opened its largest Valley location: a two-story rooftop patio and bar in Glendale’s Westgate Entertainment District.
The 12,654-square-foot restaurant is located at Entertainment and Sunset boulevards, which is one-third of a mile northeast of the intersection of Maryland and 95th avenues.
Its rooftop patio and bar, which stretch across 3,983 square feet, have space for 200 guests, which makes it a large space for private events, according to a Tuesday news release from the company.
How new two-story Thirsty Lion will impact Westgate area
Thirsty Lion CEO John Plew said this opening marks a milestone for his company.
“This marks a significant milestone for Thirsty Lion as our first two-story location, and we’re excited to bring this dynamic design to the West Valley,” Plew said in the release. “The response from the community and Westgate has been incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome guests to enjoy the rooftop for celebrations, holiday parties, corporate gatherings and more.”
He said he’s looking forward to filling the new restaurant’s walls with sports lovers during future athletic events.
“We’re just steps away from the Desert Diamond Arena and State Farm Stadium that has hosted the Super Bowl, Fiesta Bowls and the Men’s NCAA Final Four Tournament in March 2025,” Plew said.
The restaurant can hold 515 people and boasts multiple large, flat screen televisions, hardwood tables and multiple granite bars. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday, from 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
