Teenager in critical condition after being shot at party in south Phoenix

PHOENIX — A teenager was in critical condition after being shot in south Phoenix early Saturday.

Phoenix police officers were called to an area near the intersection of 7th Street and Alta Vista Road just after 3:30 a.m. to investigate a reported shooting at a house party.

When officers arrived, they found a teenage boy who had been shot.

The boy, whom police did not immediately identify, was taken to a nearby hospital.

After the scene was secured, witnesses were contacted.

No other details were immediately released by police.
