Teen arrested after allegedly stealing car from woman in west Phoenix

PHOENIX — A teen was arrested on Saturday night after allegedly stealing a car from a woman in west Phoenix, authorities said.

The male teenager was booked on multiple charges related to the incident, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of 63rd Avenue and Indian School Road just before 10 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

When police arrived on scene, they found an adult female who told them that after she was involved in a collision multiple suspects with firearms confronted her and then took her car.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to find the vehicle or the suspects.

According to Phoenix police, around an hour later officers found the vehicle, with the teenager inside, near 67th Avenue and Williams Street after it was involved in another collision.

The teen reportedly ran from the scene, but was located nearby and arrested.

This is an ongoing investigation.
