Holocaust Remembrance Day event to take place at Phoenix Symphony Hall
The Phoenix Symphony and Phoenix Holocaust Association will host a Holocaust Remembrance Day at Symphony Hall later this month.

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Symphony and Phoenix Holocaust Association (PHA) will host a Holocaust Remembrance Day event at Symphony Hall later this month.
The event at Symphony Hall, located near Washington and Monroe streets, will take place on April 27. The event will have a Phoenix Symphony concert at 2 p.m., with a Holocaust Remembrance Day commemoration to follow at 5 p.m.
Several Arizona officials are expected to attend the event, including Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, according to a Monday news release.
“Hosting our Holocaust Remembrance Day observance with the Phoenix Symphony will enable so many within and beyond the Jewish community to see and hear from these sacred souls who persevered in the face of the worst evil our world has ever known,” Rabbi Andy Green said in a news release.

As part of the concert, the Phoenix Symphony will perform Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with singers and a chorus joining the orchestra.
The commemoration will include a procession of Holocaust survivors, a candle-lighting ceremony, a speech from a Holocaust survivor, prayers, an award presentation and more.
“It is a privilege for the Phoenix Symphony to work together with the Phoenix Holocaust Association on this important event. We invite our entire community to join us, as we stand together in remembrance and unity,” Phoenix Symphony Board Chair Adam Goodman said in the release.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased online while the commemoration is free to attend. Ticket prices range from $35 to $135.
