Suspect outstanding in Phoenix shooting that left 1 dead

PHOENIX — Police are searching for a suspect in a Phoenix shooting on Tuesday that left one person dead, authorities said.

Around 4:30 a.m., police responded to a shooting call in a housing development near 19th Avenue and Pima Street, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Upon arrival, police found Omega McDaniels Jr., 21, in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. McDaniels was taken to a hospital where he later died, authorities said.

Authorities said witnesses saw the suspect leave the area before officers arrived.

The investigation remains ongoing.
