Mask-wearing men accused of threatening victims with guns, Phoenix police say

PHOENIX — Authorities are asking the public to help identify a group of gun-toting masked men who were chased off by an armed citizen in central Phoenix early Monday.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Seventh Street and Bethany Home Road around 2 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

A group of men told police officers that a group of five or six masked men had pointed guns at them, police said.

How were shots fired in Phoenix?

One of the victims told police he fired his handgun toward the suspects, which caused them to flee, police said.

Investigators have not been able to find the suspects.
