SAFE Alert issued for 43-year-old Mesa man

Authorities in Mesa are asking for the public’s help in locating a 43-year-old man who went missing Thursday afternoon.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued a SAFE Alert for Silvio Batres, who was last seen around 1 p.m. on foot near Val Vista Drive and Main Street, according to authorities.

Batres has a diagnosed medical condition that causes him to easily become lost, and he is not familiar with the surrounding area, police said. He did not have a cell phone with him when he left his residence.

Batres is described as 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a faded green shirt and navy blue shorts.

Anyone with information on Batres’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Mesa Police Department.
