Four people, including two young girls, were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in north Phoenix on Thursday evening, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived around 7:15 p.m. to the intersection of Beardsley and Cave Creek roads, near the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway, for reports of a collision involving multiple people.
Crews found two vehicles involved in the wreck and four injured individuals requiring medical care.
An adult man was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition, according to fire officials. An adult woman was also rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Two young girls suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the collision remains unclear.
The Phoenix Police Department has taken over the scene and is leading the ongoing investigation.
