$50,000 Powerball ticket purchased in northern Arizona

An Arizona Lottery player who purchased a Powerball ticket in a Flagstaff Safeway has won a $50,000 jackpot, according to lottery officials.

PHOENIX — A Powerball ticket sold in a Flagstaff grocery store won $50,000 in Saturday’s drawing, according to the Arizona Lottery.

The winning slip was sold at the Safeway located at U.S. Route 89 and Marketplace Drive.

Saturday’s winning numbers were 1, 12, 14, 18 and 69, with a red Powerball number of 2.

The odds of winning a $50,000 prize are 1 in 913,129.

The estimated jackpot for the next drawing held Monday night is a nice $20 million.

As with all Arizona Lottery games, the winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the payout.

Last month, a $2 Powerball ticket purchased at the Circle K on State Route 260 in Star Valley, just east of Payson, won its player $150,000.
