Arizona Powerball player wins $150,000 in weekend drawing

PHOENIX – A $150,000 prize awaits an Arizona Powerball player who struck it rich over the weekend.

A ticket purchased at the Circle K on State Route 260 in Star Valley, just east of Payson, matched four of the five winning numbers — 2, 4, 16, 23 and 63 — plus the red Powerball of 13 in Saturday’s drawing.

That combo is good for a $50,000 payout. However, the player added the $1 Power Play option to the $2 entry, a move that wound up tripling the winnings.

The Power Play multiplier amount is randomly selected before each drawing and increases prizes other than the jackpot by two, three, four, five or 10 times.

How long does Arizona Powerball player have to claim prize?

The winner had not come forward as of Monday morning, according to Arizona Lottery officials. The player has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize.

Powerball is a multistate game of chance with drawings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The jackpot went unclaimed on Saturday and will grow to an estimated $335 million for the next drawing.
