Phoenix restaurant lands in Yelp’s top 5 places to eat in 2020

PHOENIX — A Phoenix restaurant has been named among Yelp’s top five places to eat in 2020.

Cocina Madrigal Tacos and Tequila, which is located at 16th Street and Broadway Road, was named the No. 5 restaurant for the new year.

Yelp recommended ordering the wild mushroom enchiladas. Other menu options include crispy salmon in a tomatillo sauce and achiote-braised chicken tacos.

Chef Leo Madrigal, who was a corporate chef at Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill for more than 20 years, opened the restaurant in 2018.

Two other Arizona restaurants made the full list of 100 restaurants.

Barista del Barrio in Tucson, a Mexican breakfast restaurant and coffee shop, came in at No. 53.

Up north in Sedona, Indian Gardens Cafe and Market came in at No. 73.

The historic general store was built in 1947 and offers breakfast, sandwiches, salads, coffee, beer and wine.
