Elderly woman dies after car collides with truck in north Phoenix
An 86-year-old woman is dead after a vehicle collision in north Phoenix on Friday, authorities said.

PHOENIX — An 86-year-old woman is dead after a vehicle collision in north Phoenix on Friday, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department responded to the incident near 18th Street and Greenway Parkway around 11:15 a.m.
The woman, identified as Jacqueline Louise Nelson, was taken to a nearby hospital by the Phoenix Fire Department, where she later died from her injuries.

Detectives on the case learned Nelson was turning left from eastbound Greenway Parkway onto northbound 18th Street when she failed to yield to an oncoming truck traveling west on Greenway.
The driver of the truck stayed on the scene and was hospitalized for injuries not expected to threaten their life.
Impairment was not believed to be a factor, according to authorities.
