Metro Phoenix expecting rain, temps below 100 degrees this weekend
Relief from the hottest summer in metro Phoenix history is on its way -- at least for the weekend. Rain is forecast to hit the Valley on Saturday before temperatures dip below 100 degrees on Sunday.

PHOENIX — Relief from the hottest summer in metro Phoenix history is on its way — at least for the weekend.
Rain is forecast to hit the Valley on Saturday before temperatures dip below 100 degrees on Sunday.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for Maricopa County and other parts of Arizona beginning at noon Saturday.

There’s a 50% chance of rain for most of Saturday leading into Sunday and a possibility of more than half an inch of rain to fall.
Sunday’s high temperature is forecast to be 95 degrees, far lower than what metro Phoenix has experienced this summer.
Phoenix hit 110 degrees for the 50th time in 2020 on Friday, adding on to the record year.

An excessive heat warning that has been in effect all week was scheduled to expire Friday at 8 p.m.
