13-year-old e-bike rider dies after being struck by car in West Valley

The teen was taken with life-threatening injuries to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

A 13-year-old boy is dead after he was hit by a car while riding an e-bike in the West Valley on Monday night, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the area of Perryville and Bethany Home roads just before 8 p.m. for the vehicle-pedestrian collision, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The teen was taken with life-threatening injuries to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The boy’s identity was not released and authorities provided no information on the driver.

Detectives are investigating the fatal West Valley collision.
