Mesa police seek help in hit-and-run case that left skateboarder dead

Police are asking the public for help identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a skateboarder in May.

Late at night on May 23, Robert Hetrick, 33, was riding his skateboard when he was struck and killed by a vehicle in a parking lot near at US 60 and Stapley Road, according to Mesa police.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a gray or silver Ford F-150. Police don’t know if the truck sustained damage in the crash.

Police released a photograph of a truck seen leaving the area.
