JD Vance returning to Arizona for pair of campaign events

PHOENIX — Ohio Sen. JD Vance — former President Donald Trump’s running mate — is returning to Arizona next week for a pair of events, the Republican campaign announced Friday.

The vice presidential hopeful is set to speak in metro Phoenix early Tuesday afternoon and head south to Tucson for a rally a few hours later.

Vance’s first stop will be in the West Valley at TYR Tactical. The address of the Peoria tactical equipment company is 9300 N. 91st Ave.

Doors are scheduled to open at 11 a.m., with Vance taking the mic at 1 p.m.

The Tucson rally will be held at the Pima County Fairgrounds. Vance is scheduled to speak at 4:30 p.m., two hours after doors open to the venue at 11300 S. Houghton Road.

JD Vance has been a frequent Arizona visitor

As a battleground state, Arizona has been a hotspot for national candidates. The four nominees on the Republican and Democratic tickets each have made multiple trips to State 48 this campaign season.

In fact, Vance has appeared at multiple events during his two previous visits to Arizona.

On Oct. 8, the first day of early voting in the Grand Canyon State, he rallied in Tucson before heading to Mesa for a town hall focusing on the Hispanic community.

In a two-day visit in early September, he appeared at a get-out-the-vote event in Mesa and delivered remarks at the Biltmore resort in Phoenix.

Vance also previously spoke at Arizona Christian University in Glendale in July, about two weeks after Trump selected the first-term senator and author of “Hillbilly Elegy” to be his running mate.

While there are no future Arizona visits scheduled from Vice President Kamala Harris or her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, two former Democratic presidents are campaigning on their behalf here.

Barack Obama is in Tucson on Friday, and Bill Clinton is coming to Phoenix on Wednesday.
