Police identify woman found dead in Phoenix resident’s yard

Authorities on Tuesday released the identity of the body found by a Phoenix resident in their yard last week.

The Phoenix Police Department identified the deceased individual as 42-year-old Lillian Eileen Samarripas.

On July 6, officers responded to the area of Seventh Street and Alta Vista Road around 9:45 a.m. for a report of a dead person.

Police have not released any information on Samarripas’ cause of death, which authorities previously said the Maricopa County Medical Examiner was trying to determine.

Her family called Samarripas death an “unexpected loss” on a GoFundMe page.

“We don’t even have all the answers which makes this so much harder and confusing for us…she was a daughter, a sister, a friend and someone who deserved love, compassion and hope,” Samarripas family wrote.
