PHOENIX — A Minnesota man accused of threatening a person with a gun Sunday night in Gilbert is in custody, police said.

The Gilbert Police Department said 33-year-old Paris Dushawn Drake Greer was taken into custody Monday afternoon near Kyrene and Baseline roads in Tempe.

He was booked into jail on counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, misconduct involving weapons by a prohibited possessor, disorderly conduct and threatening or intimidating, police said.

On Sunday night, officers responded to a home near Lindsey and Germann roads for a welfare check after the caller said Greer made the armed threat.

When officers arrived, witnesses who exited the residence said he made the threat and believed the suspect to still be inside.

Negotiators attempted to make contact with Greer several times but were unsuccessful.

Gilbert Police’s Swat Team eventually executed a search warrant for the home but were unable to find Drake.

He’s wanted in Minnesota on theft charges and has a fully extraditable out-of-state warning.
