2nd suspect in fatal shooting in Phoenix arrested nearly 1 year after crime

PHOENIX — Police recently arrested the second of two suspects in a fatal shooting that took place last year in Phoenix, authorities said.

Jordan Wren, 19, was identified as a suspect after the August 2024 crime, but he remained at large until this week, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The other suspect, 24-year-old Zacariah Garcez, was arrested in September 2024.

Wren was taken into custody during a traffic stop Tuesday and booked into jail for second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Wren’s bond was set at $700,000.

Wren was wanted in a triple shooting that took place near South Mountain on Aug. 24, 2024.

One of the victims, 30-year-old Jeremy Carra, died in a hospital from injuries sustained during the shooting near 19th Avenue, south of Dobbins Road, police said.

A man and a woman were also hospitalized.
