3 suspects in custody in connection with fatal armed robbery, kidnapping in 2020

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department recently arrested a 22-year-old woman in connection with a fatal armed robbery over five years ago, authorities said.

Detectives from the Phoenix Police Department’s Tactical Support Bureau found and arrested Jamya Boozer on Monday.

Boozer is one of three suspects in custody in connection with the 2020 killing of 25-year-old Tate Bomar, police said.

The other two suspects are 27-year-old Parketta Allen, who was arrested by the Arizona Department of Public Safety on Feb. 17, and 21-year-old Jordan Edmonds, who is in custody on unrelated charges, police said.

Boozer, Allen and Edmonds are all facing multiple charges connected to the death of Bomar, including armed robbery, kidnapping and first-degree murder.

What led up to the fatal armed robbery, kidnapping in 2020?

Homicide detectives have been investigating the case for years, ever since officers responded to a shooting call in the area of 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road on Nov. 29, 2020. Bomar was found with at least one gunshot wound and later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.

Investigators determined that several suspects carried out a planned armed robbery and kidnapping of Bomar.

Boozer, Allen and Edmonds allegedly arranged to meet Bomar near 51st Avenue and Thomas Road before kidnapping him, police said.

While the suspects had him in their vehicle and were on the way to transport him to a second location, Bomar tried to escape the vehicle and was running when one of the suspects fatally shot him, police said.

Detectives were only able to determine probable cause to arrest Boozer, Allen and Edmonds early this year.

Boozer will have her indictment hearing on March 17.
