Man gets 60-year sentence for sexual assault after targeting victim at Chandler bus stop

PHOENIX — A man who sexually assaulted a woman after offering her a ride at a Chandler bus stop two years ago was sentenced to six decades behind bars last week.

Dexter Greyer, 28, received his 60-year sentence on March 6, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced.

On Oct. 29, 2025, a Maricopa County Superior Court jury found him guilty of three counts of sexual assault, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of kidnapping.

The victim was waiting for a bus to take her to work the morning of Jan. 5, 2024, when Greyer offered to give her a ride in his car, authorities said.

How was victim sexually assaulted in Chandler?

Prosecutors said Greyer then drove the victim to a nearby alley, where he sexually assaulted and strangled her. Chandler Police Department said the assault occurred near Warner and Dobson roads.

Investigators used DNA from the victim’s clothing and other evidence to identify Greyer as the suspect. He was arrested at his home in Phoenix 12 days after the crime.

“This victim showed incredible strength and courage, both in surviving this brutal attack and in working closely with detectives and prosecutors to hold her attacker accountable,” County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said in a March 10 press release. “This sentence ensures that a dangerous individual will be removed from our community for decades.”
