Firefighters rescue unconscious senior man from burning home in Phoenix

PHOENIX — An elderly man was rescued from a burning home on Friday morning, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Crews from the Phoenix and Glendale fire departments responded to a house near 35th Avenue and Cactus Road after multiple reports of flames and smoke coming from inside the home around 11 a.m.

Crews who entered the residence found the senior man unconscious in a back bedroom.

Firefighters rescued him and he was brought to a hospital in stable condition.

Two cats and two dogs were also rescued from the building.

Three people were displaced by the fire, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

No firefighters were injured.
