Teen brothers indicted for Valley drive-by shootings

PHOENIX — Two teen brothers have been indicted for their alleged participation in multiple Valley drive-by shootings, officials announced Wednesday

John Paul Camacho Barron, 16, and Andrew Soto Barron, 14, were indicted on July 9, and are both being charged as adults, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

According to MCAO, the shootings happened in the early morning hours of June 12 and June 13.

The drive-by shootings also involved multiple homes.

The older Barron brother faces the following charges:

• Three counts of discharge of a firearm at a structure, a class 2 felony.
• One count of discharge of a firearm at a structure, a class 3 felony.
• Four counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm.
• One count of drive-by shooting.
• One count of unlawful use of means of transportation.

Meanwhile, the younger of the two faces the following charges:

• Three counts of discharge if a firearm at a structure, a class 2 felony.
• One count of discharge of a firearm at a structure, a class 3 felony.
• Four counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm.
• One count of drive-by shooting.
• One count of theft of means of transportation.

The brothers’ trial date has been set for November, but that date may change.
