PHOENIX — A 4-year-old was reportedly hospitalized on Sunday night after being pulled out of a backyard pool in Litchfield Park.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and Rural Metro Fire responded to a home near El Mirage and Camelback roads. Family members had already rescued the child from the water and started performing CPR before authorities arrived.

Representatives of Rural Metro said the child was breathing but not responsive when they were taken to a nearby children’s hospital.

Officers said the child was in stable condition once at the hospital.
