Bluewater Grill seafood restaurant moving to new Phoenix location

Bluewater Grill, the Phoenix seafood restaurant marked by an eye-catching blue-and-white swordfish sign overlooking State Route 51 at Camelback Road, is moving into the shuttered SanTan Brewing location a mile away.

PHOENIX – Phoenix’s Bluewater Grill is on the move.

The seafood restaurant on Camelback Road off State Route 51, a location marked by an eye-catching blue-and-white swordfish sign overlooking the freeway, closed in June.

It’s now preparing to reopen about a mile to the north, at the southwest corner of 16th Street and Bethany Home Road.

Bluewater Grill plans to resume operations in August after remodeling the former SanTan brew pub, which closed in April.

“When we reopen, you can enjoy an oyster/sushi bar, full bar and happy hour,” the restaurant said on its website.

The Phoenix location opened in 2009 and is the only Bluewater Grill outside of California.

A spokesperson for the Newport Beach-based company told ABC15 in April that the Camelback Road property was sold to apartment builders.

A SanTan Brewing spokesperson told KTAR News 92.3 FM after the Phoenix location closed that the business decided to focus on its brew pub and Spirit House bar in Chandler.
