PHOENIX — If you’ve lived in Arizona for any period of time, you know how bad the traffic can get. Well, we have good news for you: It could be worse.

According to a recent study from BestMattress-Brand.org, Arizona ranked as the eighteenth-worst state in the nation for average commute time.

The study found that, on average, it takes Arizonans 25.2 minutes to get to and from work.

For those who use public transportation to get to and from work, your commute time is even worse. The study found that it takes Arizonans an average of 51.3 minutes to commute to their jobs using buses and the light rail.

But residents in Washington, D.C. have it the worst when it comes to average commute time: The study found that D.C. workers need to give themselves an average of 43 minutes to get to work.

Nevada residents also struggle to get to work: It takes residents nearly 58 minutes to get to work using public transportation.

The study was conducted using commuter data from the American Community Survey between the years 2009 and 2015.

We want to hear from you.
