PHOENIX – A lone ticket in Arizona struck the right combination of numbers to take the $410 million jackpot, lottery officials said Wednesday.

Whoever it is, he or she is the first Mega Millions winner in the state and claim the biggest jackpot in Arizona history.

The winning ticket was sold at a convenience store at 67th Avenue and Beardsley Road in Glendale, Arizona Mega Millions spokesman John Gilliland told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“It’s great news – it’s amazing,” he said.

The lucky numbers from Tuesday’s draw were 1, 5, 9, 10, 23 and the gold ball was No. 22. The haul was the 11th-highest jackpot in the game’s history and second Mega Million hit of the year.

The cash payout would be nearly $317 million.

“Sign the back of that ticket … then call your financial adviser, call your lawyer, call your accountant – whoever it is that helps you keep your money straight,” Gilliland said.

The state will get a $15 million cut in taxes, he added.

Arizona Lottery ticket sales raise millions of dollars for education, health and human services, environmental conservation and economic development in the state.

The jackpot had been rolling over since a New Jersey ticket won $202 million Feb. 11.

The next jackpot drawing on Friday will revert to a $20 million starting point.
