2 hospitalized after car crashes into Tempe apartment complex

PHOENIX — Two drivers were hospitalized after a car crashed into a Tempe apartment complex on Wednesday, authorities said.

The Tempe Police Department said after the cars collided at McClintock and Bell De Mar drives, south of Guadalupe Road, one of the cars crashed into the Elevate at Discovery Park apartments as a result of the impact. Both drivers were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The traffic lights at the intersection also went out after one of the power boxes was struck by a vehicle.

Authorities said there are no road closures as a result from the crash, but all traffic headed northbound and eastbound of Bell De Mar Drive is being asked to detour.

The investigation remains ongoing.
