Police are investigating a deadly shooting in central Phoenix after the victim was found with a crowbar early Wednesday.

PHOENIX – Police are investigating a deadly shooting in central Phoenix after the victim was found with a crowbar early Wednesday, according to authorities.

The Phoenix Police Department responded to a shooting at an apartment complex near 12th Street and Maryland Avenue around 3:30 a.m.

After arriving, officers found the victim lying in the apartment’s parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics took the man to a hospital where he later died. Police arrested a man who told them he shot the victim.

What led up to the central Phoenix shooting?

The alleged shooter told authorities an argument preceded the shooting, according to police.

Police said the crowbar was found in the parking lot next to the victim, who was identified later as 40-year-old Christopher Munoz.

A charging decision has yet to be made.
