Two men were arrested in Gilbert on multiple felony allegations after a traffic stop on Friday turned into a vehicle ramming and a short pursuit, authorities said.
Javier Ernesto Enriquez Fimbres, 20, and Oscar Francisco Enriquez Fimbres, 18, were booked and remain in custody of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Just after 8 p.m., Gilbert police detectives attempted to pull over a vehicle in an effort to apprehend a suspect wanted for multiple alleged felony domestic violence charges.
During the traffic stop, the vehicle rammed a police car and fled the scene, authorities said.
Officers initiated a short pursuit, which ended after the vehicle crashed near Val Vista Drive and Drivers Way.
The domestic violence suspect, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was immediately taken into custody at the crash site. The driver fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers after a short foot chase.
Gilbert police confirmed that a patrol vehicle sustained damage during the incident. No bystanders, officers or suspects were injured.
