Authorities said Monday that a 14-year-old boy was arrested over the weekend for the death of his aunt in an East Valley retirement community.
PHOENIX — A 14-year-old boy was arrested for the death of his aunt over the weekend in an East Valley retirement community, authorities said Monday.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Calbert Gillett said in an email that the boy was booked into a county juvenile detention center and charged with first-degree murder.
The 42-year-old woman was killed with a knife Friday morning in Sun Lakes.
She was later identified as Tonya Harper.

Sun Lakes is a development southwest of Chandler made up of five adult country club communities.
