1 hospitalized during shooting involving law enforcement near Rock Springs Cafe

One person was injured during a shooting involving law enforcement north of the Valley on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

ABC 15 reported that the incident took place near Rock Springs Cafe.

The Department of Public Safety confirmed that the Arizona Gang Task Force was assisting the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives around 12:15 p.m. with a pre-planned criminal investigation in the Rock Springs area.

A shooting occurred during the investigation that left a suspect wounded. They were taken to a nearby hospital, but DPS did not say what the extent of their injuries was.

No community members or law enforcement were hurt during the incident.

DPS said the investigation is ongoing.
