PHOENIX – Republicans will try to retake the Arizona governor’s office in 2026 after Katie Hobbs ended their stronghold on the position four years ago.

More than a dozen Republicans have expressed official interest in running for Arizona governor, although the nominee will likely emerge from a pair of well-known candidates: U.S. Reps. Andy Biggs and David Schweikert. A third candidate with significant name recognition, 2022 GOP primary runner-up Karrin Taylor Robson, dropped out of the race.

Hobbs is expected to win the Democratic nomination with ease, although she might not be the only candidate in the July 21 primary.

Anybody running for governor in Arizona must file a statement of interest before circulating nominating petitions. Only the candidates who collect enough valid signatures will appear on the ballot.

Here is a list of everyone who filed a statement of interest for the Arizona governor primary elections with the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office as of Feb. 16, with links to their campaign websites or social media accounts when available:
