Who is running for Arizona attorney general in 2026? Here’s a list of everyone interested

PHOENIX — Two names stand out on the list of potential Arizona attorney general candidates.

Incumbent Kris Mayes is running unopposed on the Democratic side, while state Senate President Warren Petersen is the clear favorite among the Republicans who have filed statements of interest for the position.

Anybody running for Arizona attorney general must file with the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office before circulating nominating petitions. Only the candidates who collect enough valid signatures will appear on the ballot for the July 21 primaries.

Here is a list of everyone who filed a statement of interest for an Arizona attorney general primary as of Feb. 16, with links to their campaign websites or social media accounts when available:

• Greg Roeberg (Note: Roeberg announced on Feb. 21 he is ending his campaign)
