The Spa at Camelback Inn announces $24 million renovation set to debut in 2026
The Spa at Camelback Inn, one of Arizona's largest spa destinations, announced a $24 million renovation project expected to be complete in January.

PHOENIX — One of Arizona’s top wellness destinations is getting a major facelift for 2026.
JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa announced $24 million of enhancements are coming to its world-renown relaxation and rejuvenation sanctuary.
“The transformation of The Spa at Camelback Inn represents a new era for our landmark resort, reaffirming our dedication to providing an unparalleled guest and wellness experience,” JW Marriot general manager Richard Romane said in a press release. “With deep respect for our heritage and a vision for the future, we are thrilled to reimagine this iconic space and welcome guests to a completely revitalized sanctuary of well-being.”
He added that The Spa at Camelback Inn originally opened in 1989 as one of the largest spas in the southwest.
What is going to change?
The desert-inspired design occupies 32,000 square feet of land and the transformation will be tailored to it’s Sonoran Desert surroundings.
Interior and exterior changes will be integrated into the new design, featuring cool tones and finishes to 20 newly-designed treatment rooms.
The spa’s new wellness circuit was custom designed by Bradford Wellness to promote muscle recovery and circulation.
The offerings include multiple therapy options and a holistic dining experience called the Ora Cafe.
Features of the health and wellness center include the following:
- Himalayan salt sauna.
- Natural stone.
- Aromatherapy steam cavern.
- Cold therapy showers.
- Sunlit solarium with an 18-person hot tub.
- Floor-to-ceiling views of Camelback Mountain.
- Lounge for meditation.
What is the spa’s philosophy?
The changes will complement the spa’s ariVea philosophy that aligns the natural energy of Arizona’s deserts to a personal experience for each individual.
