PHOENIX — A major structural building product supply company is more than doubling its footprint in Chandler.

California-based Simpson Strong-Tie recently signed a lease for a 67,000-square-foot facility, which will be located just south of the Chandler Municipal Airport near Cooper and Queen Creek roads, according to a press release from the city.

“We are excited that Simpson Strong-Tie continues to grow in Chandler,” Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke said in the release.

Where else has Simpson Strong-Tie been located in Chandler?

This will be the second time that the company will relocate within Chandler.

Its first facility, which was 22,000 square feet, opened in 2013. The company later relocated to its current 32,000-square-foot location near Kyrene Road and Chandler Boulevard.

“This is what we’re calling Chandler 3.0,” Simpson Strong-Tie Regional Director of Southwest Operations Andre El-Koury said. “We know how important out Chandler facility is to support our customers and that’s why we have continued to expand here.”

The move to the new facility is expected to take place this fall.

The facility will include a training center, manufacturing department and a warehouse.

Simpson Strong-Tie currently employs a dozen people in Chandler. It expects to add more employees, but did not specify how many.

The company has offices in 19 states and 19 countries outside of the U.S.
