Numerous construction projects underway at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa

PHOENIX — Changes are coming to Mesa’s Falcon Field Airport.

Over 30 hangars are under construction, according to recent announcement from the city.

Specifically, two big projects are underway at the airport, which is south of McDowell Road and east of Greenfield Road.

• Falcon 12 Aviation Center: This complex will consist of 14 high-end executive hangars.
• Falcon Hangars LLC development: This project will add seven more corporate-ready spaces.

These addition will expand the airport’s offerings from its current 166 executive-style hangars, according to Airport Administration Manager Dee Anne Thomas.

“We’re seeing unprecedented business aviation growth at Falcon Field Airport, reflecting a strong demand and confidence in our airport,” Thomas said in the announcement.

“We’re also preparing for the future of aviation, investing in infrastructure and innovation to ensure Falcon Field remains a premier destination for business and recreation.”

What other projects are underway at Falcon Field Airport?

There’s also an ongoing expansion project that is currently undergoing a third phase of construction.

Mesa Hangars will soon have five new 9,000-square-foot hangars that can accommodate midsize jets like Gulfstream IVs.

The future “Hangar G” building space will be ideal for corporate HQs, aviation manufacturing and more, according to the city.

The third Mesa Hangars phase is expected to be completed in the next year and will be followed by a fourth phase.
