Queen Creek’s $120M downtown district adds 4 tenants ahead of year-end opening

PHOENIX — Four new tenants signed leases at The Switchyard, a $120 million mixed-use development billed as Queen Creek’s first walkable downtown district, developers announced this week.

Bamboo Sushi, a Portland-based restaurant, will open a new location at the 10-acre project at Ellsworth and Ocotillo roads. The 3,198-square-foot restaurant, known for responsibly sourced seafood, will feature sushi, shareable plates and a curated beverage program.

“We’re excited to join The Switchyard and become part of the Queen Creek community,” Ava Brenneke, Bamboo Sushi’s marketing director, said in a press release. “The opening reflects Bamboo Sushi’s continued expansion into vibrant, community-focused destinations that value quality, sustainability and connection.”

Home goods retailer ROOM and PORCH will occupy 1,761 square feet, while Zara Nail Bar signed a 3,519-square-foot space. Financial services firm Edward Jones also signed a lease. The four tenants will share a building. These newly announced businesses and the previously announced restaurants Snooze, Shake Shack and Postino are all expected to open by year’s end.

The long term vision of Queen Creek’s Switchyard

Developer Creation, in partnership with Horizon Real Estate, said the tenant mix is designed to create a pedestrian-friendly destination where visitors can park once and explore dining, retail and services on foot.

“The caliber of tenants joining The Switchyard reflects the demand we’re seeing for a concentrated dining and retail environment in Queen Creek,” Creation co-founder David Sellers said in a release.

Multifamily housing is planned in the future.

Creation, headquartered in Phoenix and Dallas, has $4.5 billion in active development projects across eight states, according to the company’s website.
