Mixed-use $120-million project The Switchyard coming to Queen Creek

Jun 7, 2024, 4:05 AM

PHOENIX — Real estate company Creation Equity announced Wednesday a mixed-use project called The Switchyard coming to Queen Creek and expected to break ground later this year.

The Switchyard is expected to include restaurants, offices, residential options and retail space. Two tenants are signed on already, including wine cafe Postino and restaurant The Porch.

Postino will span 3,800 square feet and offer unique as well as approachable wine options. The Porch serves as a neighborhood hangout perfect for sports viewing spanning across 11,900 square feet.

“Queen Creek is seeing significant demand for true mixed-use development that integrates living, working and social spaces, and The Switchyard aims to meet those needs in this growing community,” Creation Co-Founder David Sellers said in a news release. “This project allows us to contribute to the town’s growth.”

A groundbreaking is anticipated in the fourth quarter of the year for the 54,000-square-foot project that will be located on the northeast corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo roads.

Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley said the addition of The Switchyard brings the “vision of our downtown core to life.”

“With specialty restaurant and retail, along with boutique office, The Switchyard will offer a variety of options for residents and visitors in the heart of our community,” Wheatley added. “Creation has been a great partner, and we are so excited to see this high-quality development move forward, enhancing the overall experience in Queen Creek’s downtown.”
