Phoenix police seek public’s help for investigation into deadly hit-and-run

Phoenix police and firefighters responded to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian shortly before 7 p.m. on Thursday.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, which was near 31st Drive and Northern Avenue, before police arrived.
First responders arrived and located the seriously injured man. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Details about the fatal hit-and-run in Phoenix
Detectives from the Vehicular Crimes Unit took over the investigation. Preliminary indications were that the pedestrian was crossing Northern Avenue midblock and not in a crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle. No vehicle description was available.
The investigation is ongoing.
