Amazon cargo plane sends up billowing cloud of smoke after overrunning runway at Miami airport
MIAMI (AP) — An Amazon cargo plane overshot a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, pausing flights at the busy travel hub as images showed plumes of black smoke pouring from the plane.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft overran the runway at around 2 p.m. after heading into Florida from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Videos and images showed the plane stopped beyond the airport runway as smoke billowed into the air.
