Impairment, speed possible factors in Scottsdale crash that left 1 dead, 1 injured, police say

One person died and another was injured in a Scottsdale crash Sunday morning, where impairment and speed are possible factors, authorities said.
Officers were called to the area of Drinkwater Boulevard and Osborn Road for a single-vehicle collision around 2:40 a.m., according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
Police said the passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they later died. The driver was also treated for injuries at the hospital.
Drinkwater Boulevard was closed at Scottsdale Road past Civic Center Plaza for about eight hours while police were investigating, but has since reopened.
