US 60/Grand Avenue closed in Glendale due to crash involving motorcycle

US 60/Grand Avenue closed in Glendale on Friday night due to a crash that left a motorcyclist in the hospital, officials said.

Officers responded around 7:30 p.m. to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and car at US 60/Grand Avenue and Royal Palm Road, according to the Glendale Police Department.

The motorcyclist was found with serious injuries and taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The westbound side of the freeway is closed at 67th Avenue and the eastbound lanes are shut at Butler Drive while authorities investigate.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advised motorists to expect delays and look for an alternative route.

It is not known when the freeway will reopen.
