Six freeway closures and lane restrictions will slow traffic across the Valley this weekend as crews push forward on widening and paving projects on Loop 101, Loop 202, SR 51, SR 347 and Interstate 10, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

Most of the closures start Friday night and last through 5 a.m. Monday, according to ADOT’s weekly weekend travel advisory.

Westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway closing for widening work

Westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway shuts down between 51st and 75th avenues in the northwest Valley starting at 10 p.m. Friday as crews continue a widening project.

The roadways reopen Monday at 5 a.m.

Both Interstate 17 ramps to westbound Loop 101 will close, along with ramps at 27th and 35th avenues.

ADOT suggests exiting ahead of the closure and using westbound Bell Road or Union Hills Drive.

On Sunday night at 9 p.m., the closures extend to eastbound Loop 101 ramps to north- and southbound I-17. Plan alternative routes to reach I-17.

All of these closures end Monday at 5 a.m.

Westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway closing for widening work

Westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway shuts down between Gilbert Road and Arizona Avenue in the southeast Valley starting at 10 p.m. Friday for a widening project.

On-ramps at San Tan Village Parkway, Val Vista Drive and Lindsay Road will also close.

Pecos or Germann roads are available as westbound detours. Westbound US 60 Superstition Freeway is another alternative route.

Southbound SR 51 narrowing to two lanes for pavement work

Southbound SR 51 narrows to two lanes between Northern Avenue and Bethany Home Road starting at 9 p.m. Friday as crews continue a pavement improvement project.

On-ramps at Northern Avenue, Glendale Avenue and Bethany Home Road will close.

If you’re heading to downtown Phoenix, ADOT said southbound I-17 is the best option.

Northbound SR 51 closing between Indian School and Colter

Northbound SR 51 shuts down between Indian School Road and Colter Street, just north of Camelback Road, from 9 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday for pavement improvement work.

On-ramps at McDowell and Thomas roads will close. ADOT recommends exiting ahead of the closure and using northbound 16th or 24th streets to get around it.

When the closure ends Sunday, northbound SR 51 will stay narrowed to the two right lanes around the clock near Camelback Road for ongoing pavement work.

The I-10 interchanges at Verrado Way and Perryville Road are available as detour routes.

SR 347 narrowing to one lane near city of Maricopa

SR 347 narrows to one lane in both directions between Casa Blanca Road and Mammoth Way north of the city of Maricopa starting at 8 p.m. Friday for paving.
