Teen girl dies at hospital after being hit by car at apartment complex in north Phoenix

A 15-year-old girl is dead after being hit by a car in north Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Officers were called to an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road just after 3 p.m. for multiple reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the car remained at the scene.
Preliminary information indicated the girl was hit by the car while walking across the entrance to the complex as it was entering the parking lot.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the fatal north Phoenix collision.
Authorities did not identify the teen.
The investigation is ongoing.

The speed limit in a parking lot is 3-5mph. How do you kill someone if you are actually driving at that speed. Charge them.
Too many people take driving as a right not a privilege. The prevalence of speeding, ego and impatient drives make things like this sadly inevitable.
