Traffic stop leads to Arizona woman being arrested after 82 grams of meth found

A woman was arrested last week in western Arizona after she was discovered to be in possession of 82.4 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop, authorities said.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department said 54-year-old Kelly Winnie was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives conducted a traffic stop near Highway 95 and Palo Verde Boulevard around 3:18 p.m. on Friday, and during the stop a K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.

While searching Winnie’s vehicle, authorities found 82.4 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $4,120. They also found multiple small plastic bags and a digital scale.

Winnie was given a $25,000 secured bond before being booked into the Mohave County Detention Facility.

The police department said detectives have been investigating allegations of methamphetamine distribution in the city as part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team.
