Police investigating after floating body pulled from canal in Phoenix

Crews responded to a water rescue call around 7:30 a.m. Friday and found the body in the Arizona Canal.

A body was found in a canal near 24th Street and Bethany Home Road in Phoenix on Friday morning.

Officers responded to a call about a water rescue in the Arizona Canal around 7:30 a.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Crews found the body floating in the water, and the adult could not be resuscitated. Authorities have not said whether the person was a man or a woman.

The Phoenix Police Department took over the scene to investigate the case.
