A grand jury indicted a man who allegedly killed his pregnant girlfriend and caused the death of another pregnant teen’s baby during a triple shooting in Buckeye earlier this month, authorities announced Friday.

Michael Sanchez, 18, was indicted Wednesday on three counts of first-degree murder and other charges related to the May 14 shooting near Miller and Broadway roads, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Buckeye police said Sanchez’s pregnant ex‑girlfriend was with another woman and a pregnant 17‑year‑old at the time of the shooting.

His ex‑girlfriend, 16‑year‑old Rylee Montgomery, and their unborn daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two other victims were hospitalized, and the 17‑year‑old girl underwent emergency surgery. The fetus delivered during that surgery died days later, police said.

Sanchez allegedly fled the scene in a car driven by Antonio Tequida, a 19-year-old man who was indicted on one count of hindering prosecution.

After the fatal triple shooting, Sanchez was taken into custody after a SWAT situation near Dysart Road and MC 85 in Avondale.

In addition to the murder charges, Sanchez was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of interference with monitoring devices.

He is being held without bond, prosecutors said.
