A teenage boy was injured in a shooting at a pool party in Avondale on Saturday night, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A teenage boy was injured in a shooting at a pool party in Avondale on Saturday night, authorities said.
According to the Avondale Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:15 p.m. for a shooting call near Avondale Boulevard and McDowell Road. They learned upon arrival at the scene that shots were fired during a party at an apartment complex’s community pool.
A 15-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck in the leg, police said.
There were two people detained nearby who matched suspect descriptions, according to authorities.
There was no outstanding threat to the community.
The investigation into the pool party shooting is ongoing.
